EaRtHqUaKe!

Kim and I were watching Jos. Campbell and Bill Moyers last night, talking in the living room, when I heard loud thud and -- first -- thought the cat fell off the back of the chair I was sitting in, and I got up quick to look behind the chair when -- the thud sound kept happening and I looked up at the front door by the chair -- next -- thinking someone was pounding on the door or trying to force it, when Kim said, "EARTHQUAKE!" and it took a second to register in my brain (I really thought some nut was on the front porch trying to force their way through the front door at 9pm!!!) but, yes, the tassles on the lightshade were swinging and my legs went wobbly as I wondered at the floor and house going bubbly side to side. Then it stopped. The house is OK, so are we, but the cats all totally wigged out.

About 5-10 miles south of us, east of Alamo. USGS map
